Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing a series of posts showing you all around my apartment. (If you want a peek at what my whole apartment looks like when it’s empty, you can see that here.) My hope for this is that you can find some inspiration from just one example of a minimalist’s living space- mine! 🙂
When I was downsizing I found that seeing what other people kept and how they chose to store or display those things was immensely helpful. I never used them as comparators because I don’t believe minimalism is about who can have the least number of items or the most chic white decor. Instead, I found that just seeing other minimalists’ spaces motivated me to keep decluttering and often prompted me to question why I was holding on to things. Seeing other people’s stuff made me question mine, in a healthy way.
Minimalism is subjective. What you need and want from your home could be very similar or very different to mine. I hope that even if your family structure, decorating taste, or personal belongings are worlds apart from mine you still enjoy seeing my home.
Let’s kick off this series with the kitchen!
