Day 4 of my 30 day challenge to break my weight loss plateau is over.
Remember how yesterday I said it was easy to stay in my calorie goal? I was optimistic that I had turned some kind of corner very early on. Well, not today.
I woke up this morning and inexplicably put on 1.3 pounds overnight. Probably just water weight. No biggie. But to add insult to injury, I’ve been so freaking hungry today that staying in my calorie goal seemed a nearly impossible feat. As I’m writing this, it’s only been 30 minutes since dinner (a large dinner at that), and I’m already (still?) hungry. What gives, body? And before you’re like, maybe it’s that time of the month, let me just say nah girl, it’s not.
Okay, so today was challenging, but I did it. I made clean and healthy food choices and got my exercise in. Here’s hoping tomorrow is less of a struggle.

Today’s exercise: I took an evening walk for about 45 minutes. I guess I’m just loving walking lately. It’s a really nice way to clear my head, kind of like meditating. I do want to mix in some at-home HIIT workouts and gym workouts, too, but I’ll get there.
Today’s food: For breakfast, I had oatmeal. It’s my go-to for days that I want something more substantial in the morning. I recently started putting jam and almond butter on my oatmeal and I can already tell that it’s my new favorite way to have it. For lunch, I had one serving of the pasta & veggies meal I prepped yesterday with an apple, carrots, and hummus on the side. (I actually ate the sides about an hour or so after the pasta, so maybe they were a snack? Your call.) For dinner, I had the rest of the Thai almond salad that I made yesterday and a smaller portion of oatmeal than what I had for breakfast. After dinner I drank a ridiculous amount of water because that’s supposed to help you feel fuller and curb cravings. It did not.
Today’s calorie totals: 1870 consumed – 2130 burned = -260 kcal. My LoseIt! calorie goal is calculated for me to lose about one pound per week.
