It’s day 2 of my 30 day challenge to break my weight loss plateau and I’m feeling good.
The weather was amazing which made it easy to want to be outside and active instead of sitting on my butt in front of the computer (like I am as I’m writing this :)).
Since it is only day 2, the struggle against overeating is real, but I’m doing my best. I know from past experience that the first 5 days of trying to get my eating back on track are the hardest. (Past experience = when I was in college–and my weight was at a steady 15 pounds less than it is now–I would go home for holidays and eat too much good food and be pretty darn lazy. Coming back from break was always a bit of a struggle but I remember how good it felt to get back into the groove of my healthy habits.) If I can make it over the 5 day hump, it should be a lot easier from there.

Today’s exercise: I went for a walk this morning for about 50 minutes. Walking isn’t a high-intensity workout but I love to do it on the weekends because it’s a relaxing way to start my day.
Today’s food: For breakfast, I had my current favorite smoothie once again. For lunch, I finished off the watermelon that I cut into yesterday. I had a banana smoothie with a few tablespoons of almond butter on the side for dinner. To snack on throughout the day, I had cherries and steamed broccoli with hummus. Like yesterday, I ate very clean but went over my calorie goal by a bit. If I hadn’t had the almond butter I’d have been golden.
Today’s calorie totals: 2071 consumed – 2083 burned = -12 kcal. Like yesterday, just barely in the black. My LoseIt! calorie budget is set for me to lose about 1 pound per week.
